About Maharashtra Tax Practitoners Association
"Maharashtra Tax Practitioner's Association" (formerly known as The ITSTP Association) was formed in 1950 with the object to study the complicated provisions of various taxation laws and to resolve common problem faced by the tax professional. Association is presently having about 1200 members consisting of Tax consultants, advocates, chartered accountants & cost accountants who are practicing in taxation laws. All these are collectively known as "TAX PRACTITIONERS". The association is meant to discuss common problems of tax professionals & find the solution for the problems faced by them by way of representing legal, procedural and administrative issues to the Commissioner of Sales Tax and Finance Minister of Maharashtra as well as Central government. The business community many times enjoy the fruits of this representation.
The MTPA is governed by its own constitution and is registered with the Charity Commissioner and also under the Societies Act. The elected President, Officer Bearers and members of the Managing Committee conduct the activities of the Association.

The association conducts fortnightly study circle meetings, seminars & residential refresher courses. The association publishes regularly monthly journal viz. "Tax Tribune, News & Views" consisting of articles on burning tax related issues, amendments, case laws, etc. This monthly magazines has become the mouthpiece of this association. Read More
